PyroCMS Professional by PyroCMS Dev Team
PyroCMS Professional is for those who use PyroCMS to manage multiple websites, be it for clients or for their own personal network of sites. PyroCMS Professional helps you do this with a multi-site manager and also allows you to remove any visible references to PyroCMS on the frontend and backend (Control Panel) and 'white-label' the product for resale to your clients.
The Professional Edition contains every single feature in PyroCMS Community Edition and will always be kept in sync, meaning that all contributions to the Community Edition will directly benefit the Professional Edition too.
This purchase contains the v2.0.1 release which is the latest stable version. It will also contain v2.1.x and v2.2.x when they are released but after this we reserve the right to consider charging for upgrades. For now however, it is a single-purchase for all these versions!

I'd like to know if I could have websites in different domains with just 1 installation.

Luiz Sobral: Yes you can point multiple domains to the same server and use our Multi-Site Manager available at http://yoursite.com/sites. There is no limit to how many sites you can have per-installation, but install it a second time and you need to buy a second copy.

The Professional version allows you to remove all references to Pyrocms both frontend and backend, right.
Is there an automatic way to do this, or have to edit the files manually?.

Professional allows you to create Admin Themes to white-label your product, meaning you can totally change how it looks, change the colors, change the logos, wording, etc. This of course needs to be done manually until Admin Themes start showing up in the store.

In Professional, can we create something similar to this: {custom:text:display}, instead of {pyro:custom:text action="display"}?

You can change it to {whatever:pluginname:methodname} but you can't randomly re-order the segments or change the logic no, that would involve recoding.

You sure can! Anyone who wants access to the GitHub repo just has to ask. Use the contact form, twitter, whatever and let us know.

Hello! as I can point multiple domains to a single installation of Pro Pyrocms
example:
site1.com.br -> addons/site1
site2.com.br -> addons/site2
We need additional configuration? or it will automatically recognize the new domains.
Phil Sturgeon

1 domain = 1 site and you need no configuration, you just point the domain to the server.
Multi-Site Management is all documented here: http://pyrocms.com/docs/manuals/end-users/multi-site-management

hi! i'd like to know if the new version of pyroCMS is integrated with the new version of CI(CodeIgniter), i mean is the pyroCMS real upgraded? i'd like to buy it but u have to give me confidence about the version of CI(CodeIgniter) pyroCMS uses

Before explaining this fully I should also explain that I am a "CodeIgniter Engineer" which means not only am I one of the first 5 people in the world to know about new versions and changes to CodeIgniter (outside of EllisLab employees) but I am one of the people actually making and approving these changes.
PyroCMS v1.3.x uses v2.0.1 of CodeIgniter with some custom patching of various files, as the v2.0.2 release had a few serious issues and came too close to the release of PyroCMS v1.3.0 for us to upgrade. When you frozen a release and are "hardening" the stability, a framework upgrade is often a terrible idea.
PyroCMS v1.4.0-dev is using the bleeding edge, very stable, very sexy version of CodeIgniter that will be released soon. It will be stable by the time PyroCMS is stable, and upgrades from v1.3.x to v1.4.0 are free.
So in short: yes, we are using the best version of CodeIgniter at all times.

If i was to setup a new site on multi-site manager and the domain was a subdomain for example demo.mysite.com, when it came to assigning a real domain to that website can you simply change the domain in the multi-site manager?
Im hoping to setup subdomains for client demos then when thy are happy to go live i can then attach there chosen domain to the site.

DigitalSC: Yep! Just go to the multi-site manager and change the domain name.

O'neil: Easy, just backup your config and place the new files over the top.

Phil,
I'm currently developing a module. I want multiple sites (www.site.com, www.othersite.com) to use this module. It's not necessary to have multiple databases for me, if Pyro can work with one database. Can the Professional version help me out with this? I do want both of the sites to have their own pages though (home page etc.), it's just the module I want both to be shared.
Thanks!

That is correct PyroCMS Professional only uses one database.

Hi Phil, just viewed and tested your cms and was extremely amazed of the work you put in to this. Really, great job!
But my question is.. I want to start a webshop kind of site, can PyroCMS handle things like this big (like payment options, etc.) or is it just a matter of building the right module for it?
Phil Sturgeon
2011-10-20
Martijn: There are no publicly available e-commerce solutions for PyroCMS at the moment, but that is just a case of people not completing the modules. There are a few closed source ones I have seen and people like CartThrob are working on a port, but this will take time.
We hope soon to see a few options in the store.

I just added a new site using the multi-site manager. It's essentially a new domain that points to a different folder on the same server. Does this automatically deploy the code as well? or do I have to go in and deploy a new PyroCMS installation for the new site?

I am curious about the PyroCMS Professional addition. More specifically I'm interested to know more about the Multi-Site Management. We're looking to do a project where multiple domains are pointed at the same code base and we pull content and configuration accordingly. But I wonder if PyroCMS Pro can help us with that? Or is it more for single domain code base environments?
Thanks.

Hasitha: The Multi-Site Manager will not dpeloy any new code to new folders and it doesn't need to. It will simply set up the new site and accept the new domain then load content accordingly. One codebase, multiple sites. It's consoderably easier to handle this way.
Trea: Yes, you nailed it. PyroCMS Professional is a single install which can have multiple sites with different addons, content, settings, etc.

Hello! I'm interested in purchasing the pro version, I've just got a few questions:
* Is the ability to change admin themes built into the interface, or do you need to crack open the layout files and edit individually? If the latter, can't this be done anyway with the community version? I can't seem to find a working doc on this subject (I get 404s)
* What is "custom data"? Any examples of how this works? Curious :)
* Can you redownload the file by logging in after purchase? When 2.0.1 comes out, am I able to download the update without going through the transaction process again?
Thanks!!
Phil Sturgeon

Admin Themes can be changed in the interface once installed yes.
Custom Data is the "PyroStreams" addon you may have seen around here, but we're integrating it more tightly into the core.
Yes, all downloads of 2.0 and 1.3 are available from the same download area once you have purchased.
