v0.9.8 is making progress

Posted News at Nov 18, 2009

The new v1.0 interface is being actively worked on and so far it is looking much better. Until the HTMLing and planning is fully done, we are simply working on the functionality and simplifying what already exists in the v0.9.7.x branch and implementing a cleaner, quicker and generally more polished v0.9.8.

  • User specific permissions
  • Templating syntax support to pages & themes using Dwoo
  • Helper functions for linking to pages (page_anchor() and page_url(), both of which are supported in the templating syntax - all helper functions are)
  • Simplifying the layout library to output more standard variables, as $page_content, $extra_head_content is a bit confusing
  • CTRL + Click and “Check all” boxes for lists in admin.
  • Swapping from Matchbox to Modular Separation meaning a bump in performance.

There will be plenty of other tweaks and modifications to generally make things more logical, stable and useful before we udner-go the task of re-developing the backend interface. This is a task that should be compared to ExpressionEngines move from 1.6.x to 2.0 as we will be doing much more than simply "adding a new skin".

Development of this CMS is still very active and we'll have some brilliant updates coming your way soon. If you aren't doing so already, please follow us on Twitter to get more updates.
